Michigan St. vs. UConn was a classic Final Four matchup, but the other two games lacked competition. North Carolina was simply more than either MSU or Villanova could handle. This gives Roy Williams a 2nd National Title and, it probably means half the team will go pro next year if last year’s Jayhawks are any indication. We now look ahead to Fall when the competition will heat back up. Next season we won’t have a runaway pre-season favorite the way we did this year (in fact we have no idea who will even be #1 at the start of next season), and we are very happy about that. Like Sarah Connor in Terminator 3, we now see the future as a dark highway, once again an unknown, and it makes us happy.
Congrats to “I Eat Meat on Fridays” for winning this season’s FATBar Bracket Challenge. He called 3 of the Final Four and the eventual champ, which is some solid picking. The guru finished in the top half of the pack, but admittedly it was not my best year as my upsets didn’t really pan out.
