MLB

Baseball is here and in full swing. Most teams have played at least 15 games by now and the standings are starting to look like they will 5 months from now. The Yankees and the Red Sox are still beating up on each other, the Giants are awful and everyone is looking for the Tigers offense that was supposed to score 1,000 runs this year.

In the AL reigning Cy Young winner C.C. Sabathia has forgotten how to pitch. His Indians are fading fast and in need of a winning streak. Meanwhile, on the flipside Zack Greinke, Brian Bannister and the Royals are pitching their way to respectability. Parity in baseball is a great thing and should make for an exciting season.

The Diamondbacks are the class of the N.L. With their staff that trend will most certainly continue. Aquiring Dan Haren and promoting Justin Upton are starting to look like two of the best moves made in recent years. Everyone else's Wrold Series pick, The Cubs, is playing well with Derek Lee averaging about 4-5 homeruns a game. Koskee Fukudomee (phoenetically spelled of course) hasn't slowed down a bit from his success in the Eastern hemisphere and has the boys from Wrigley primed for a curse breaking WS trip.

Here are some of the intriguing match ups this weekend:

Mets vs. Phillies

These division foes are back at this weekend for a 3 game slugfest in PA. Checkout the marquee mathup on Friday night as Johan Santanna squares off against the Phils' young ace Cole Hammels.

Padres vs. Diamondbacks

Two rivals from the NL West battle it out this weekend in what promises to be an exhibition of pitching and defense. Great matchup on Friday night; Chris Young and Dan Haren.
